Most of the butterflies have hatched!

Out of 5 caterpillars, we only got 2 butterflies. I’ve been doing this for years through my school and have always had great results. This must have been a bad batch.

Needs to be larger. Great design as container top to chrysalis holder though.

This holding log was so convenient and made the process so easy!

It was real bad this year. I ordered 10 caterpillars and only received 9. Of the 9 caterpillars, 4 died within a week and the fifth died while struggling to emerge My kids now only have 4 butterflies to release out of an order that was supposed to be 10. I’m extremely disappointed and actually annoyed.

The log is a solid 5 stars—beautifully made and a great addition to the experience! As for the caterpillars, I’d rate them 4 stars. Only four arrived, and unfortunately, one didn’t form a chrysalis. It seemed ready, but by the next morning, it was hanging lifeless and eventually fell. I’m hopeful the remaining three will emerge in about six more days. I believe this was just an unusual situation—I’ve ordered from Insect Lore for years and this is the first time I’ve had an issue. Normally, everything goes perfectly!

It is so fun and rewarding to watch caterpillars grow, vaccine and emerge as beautiful butterflies!
Releasing additional pollinators into our environment is so important. Makes me feel good to be a part of the effort.

This is our third year. We are a fan. It is neat to see the kids interest evolve each year.

So much easier than trying to pin the lid to the side of the enclosure.
